What guests say about La Palma

5out of 5from 7 reviews

Practical tips: getting there, climate, best time to travel

La Palma is easy to reach by plane, usually via the airport near Santa Cruz de La Palma. Once there, renting a car is worthwhile in many cases, as many beautiful accommodations are located in rural or higher-altitude areas. The climate is mild, but it can vary noticeably depending on which side of the island you are on: while the west is often sunnier and drier, the east tends to be greener. Spring and autumn are often considered the best times to visit, when hiking and exploring the island are especially enjoyable. La Palma is also popular in winter for a peaceful holiday.
